Tomas Maier Does Mass Luxury For His Resort 2015 Collection

Tomas Maier Resort 2015

While many fashion editors are currently jet-setting to exotic locales like Monaco, Dubai, and Brooklyn, to view extravagant resort runway shows for the 2015 season, Tomas Maier decided to keep it low-key with a presentation in the designer's new showroom. "I'm not going to compete with another line I design." Maier explains. The line Maier is referring to is the multi-million dollar Italian luxury house, Bottega Veneta where Maier is creative director.

Describing the line as a "cultivated and essential designer's point of view of casual living," Maier's clothes for his namesake line are a study in leisurely elegance. The resort 2015 collection "is not about a high price point" Maier tells style.com's Nicole Phelps. A few of the dresses will even be priced below $500. This sort of mass luxury will surely have wide appeal. The Wall Street Journal's fashion director Meenal Mistry gushes enthusiasm over Maier's line on her Instagram saying he "has one of the chicest lables around," proving that chic doesn't have to be expensive.
