The Beauty Files: She's Come Undone

Backstage at Tom Ford Spring 2014

The beauty trend for the spring 2014 runways is all about dressed-down beauty with an edge. More natural hues like peach and pink dominated many of the European Runways. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux described the muted color palate and bold lashes at Blumarine as a "naughty girl with manners." Take a cue from the runway and let your natural beauty shine. Famed make-up artist and fashion week fixture Pat McGrath described the season's makeup as "minimal individualism" that is "very much a 'this-is-who-I-am statement'."

Fille on Film: Veruschka

Model Verushcka landed eleven Vogue covers and has been shot by Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, and Helmut Newton. When starting out as a model under her birth name Vera, she didn't land many modeling jobs. She decided to reinvent herself, changing her name to Veruschka and dressing all black when she went on go-sees. The exotic overhall worked, and Verushcka went on to have a very successful modeling career. The over 6 foot beauty also earned a great deal of attention for a short sexy scene in the 1966 cult film "Blow Up."
